Starting a blog of my own is something I've wanted to do for the longest time. But I always thought that I needed to wait for the 'right time'. That, and I've also always been so conscious about what people think of me and the things I say.
I've realised that there's no such thing as a right time—that right time is now. As cliché as that might sound, it is what it is. There's so much potential that goes to waste if you don't at least try something you've always wanted to do for yourself.
I also want to thank my long time friend who inspired me to start this. She just started her page awhile ago and she encouraged me to start one as well. This one's for you, Niru! You can check out her writing here.
If you know me in person, you're probably already aware that I'm a writer. I do this for a living (yay), so it's something that comes naturally. I was 10 when I wrote my first story and I wrote several more as a child. When I grew up, I went to law school and initially had plans to become a lawyer.
That plan was done away with pretty quickly. I realised that that was not what I wanted. I landed an internship in a media company after university, and all the jobs I've had after that have been in the writing field. I can finally say I'm living my childhood dream. It makes me happy. It gives me a sense of purpose, and I'm so happy it turned out this way.
Besides that, I have a little side hustle where I sell handmade polymer clay earrings. That's another passion project of mine which keeps me busy on the weekends. You can follow me on @klay.for.days if you're into jewelry/accessories. #shamelessplug
Also since I just started this site, it might not look great and it's still a work in progress, so please bear with me until I figure this out. M̶i̶g̶h̶t̶ ̶t̶a̶k̶e̶ ̶a̶ ̶c̶o̶u̶p̶l̶e̶ ̶o̶f̶ ̶m̶o̶n̶t̶h̶s̶ ̶l̶o̶l̶
So yes, that's about it for this post. I'm writing my next post right away, because today marks 13 years since my dad passed on and I want to write a tribute to him.
If you read all of this (and you're reading the next post as well) thank you for your time :)
Miks.
